The Angel C. Reese Foundation
Angel Reese, fresh off of winning the Best Breakthrough Athlete at the 2023 ESPY awards, announced plans for the Angel Reese Foundation.
The foundation will focus on empowering women through sports, education, and financial literacy, a perfect set of initiatives given Reese’s success in collegiate athletics and the NIL space.
The inaugural event for the foundation is scheduled to take place on August 19th at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, where Reese attended high school.
The “Back-to-School Giveback Block Party” will provide school supplies, backpacks, clothing, food, and living essentials to children in the area.

Senators Manchin and Tuberville Introduce Newest Federal NIL Bill
Without waiting for the ink to dry on the draft of the College Athletes’ Protection and Compensation Act, Senators Joe Manchin and Tommy Tuberville (above) introduced their version of bipartisan NIL legislation.
“Our bipartisan legislation strikes a balance between protecting the rights of student-athletes and maintaining the integrity of college sports. I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to consider this commonsense legislation as a way to level the playing field in college athletics,” Manchin said in a statement.
The bill would require student-athletes to disclose their earnings and deals, regulate collectives, and place restrictions on player transfers.
NCAA President Charlie Baker referred to the legislation as “a major step in the right direction.”

Quick Hitter:
The Collective Association Begins Revenue-Sharing Discussion
Although The Collective Association has not released a fully concrete plan, they have developed a model for sharing television revenue with student-athletes.
The Association’s model requires a portion of television revenue to be distributed by conferences to an “official” collective in equal shares. The collective would then distribute that money to student-athletes.
